Before the session
- Explain why you will ask trainees to share their work.
- Tell trainees that they choose when to share, what to share and when to stop.
- Explain that shared screens are visible to the trainer, not other trainees.
- Explain that Train Lens does not record or store trainee screens and does not give you remote control of their computers.
- Prepare exercise files or sample data that do not expose confidential information.
When trainees start sharing
- Ask trainees to close unrelated or private content.
- Help them choose only the screen, window or tab needed for the exercise.
- Confirm that you can see the intended training content.
- Make sure trainees know how to stop sharing before they need to open private information.
During and after the exercise
- Avoid displaying trainee screens through a separate meeting or projector.
- If private information appears, ask the trainee to stop sharing before addressing the issue.
- When screen sharing is no longer needed, remind trainees to stop and confirm that you can no longer see their screens.
What should I do next?
Before live training, practice starting and stopping screen sharing with a colleague so you can guide trainees confidently.
