Learn the common terms used throughout Train Lens sessions, trainer guides and trainee instructions.
A session is a live training event created and managed by a trainer.
Each session has its own joining link and may include a name, date, start time, expected duration, description and training resources.
The trainer is the person who creates and delivers the training session.
The trainer can view screens that trainees choose to share, identify help requests and provide guidance during the session.
A trainee is a participant attending the live training session.
The trainee joins using the session link, enters their name and chooses whether to share a screen with the trainer.
The joining link is the web address trainees use to enter a specific Train Lens session.
The trainer sends this link to trainees before the session begins.
A shared screen is a screen, application window or browser tab that a trainee has actively chosen to show to the trainer.
Sharing does not begin automatically, and the trainee can stop sharing at any time.
The grid mode allows the trainer to see multiple trainee screens together.
It helps the trainer compare progress across the group and identify people who may need assistance.
The focus mode allows the trainer to concentrate on an individual trainee's shared screen.
This is useful when the trainer needs a clearer view of the trainee's work or wants to provide individual support.
A help request is a signal a trainee can activate when they need assistance.
The trainee can clear the request after the issue has been resolved or help is no longer required.
Private support is individual guidance provided to a trainee without interrupting the rest of the training group. Train Lens facilitates this through a dedicated, separate audio channel, much like a walkie-talkie. Only the trainer and the individual being supported can hear the conversation when this feature is turned on.
Training resources are files, documents, links or other materials provided for use before, during or after a session.
A session summary is information about a completed session. Depending on the available product features, it may include details such as attendance, resources or session activity.
Trainers can continue with the trainer guides. Trainees can continue with the trainee guides for joining and participating in a session.
