The browser chooses what is shared

When you start screen sharing in Train Lens, your browser opens a separate sharing chooser. The exact wording and layout depend on your browser and operating system.

Train Lens does not decide which of your screens, windows or tabs you select. You make that choice in the browser prompt.

Understand the common sharing choices

• Entire screen: shares the selected display and may show anything that appears on it while sharing continues.
• Application window: shares one selected application window rather than the whole display.
• Browser tab: shares one selected browser tab when that option is available.

Select the content you want to share

1. Start screen sharing from your Train Lens session.
2. Review the choices shown in the browser sharing chooser.
3. Select the screen, window or browser tab containing the training work your trainer needs to see.
4. Check the selected preview or highlighted item carefully.
5. Select the browser's Share button to begin sharing.

Choose the narrowest useful option

If you only need to show one training application or browser tab, sharing that specific item can reduce the chance of unrelated content appearing.

If your exercise requires switching between several applications, your trainer may ask you to share your entire screen instead. Check that unrelated information is closed before doing so.

If you selected the wrong content

1. Stop sharing in Train Lens.
2. Start sharing again.
3. Select the correct screen, window or browser tab in the browser chooser.
4. Confirm the selection and continue the exercise.
