Use this checklist to prepare your account, training materials, trainees and technology before running your first Train Lens session.
A few minutes of preparation can make your first Train Lens session much easier to run.
Use this checklist before creating or delivering a live session.
Make sure you can sign in to your Train Lens trainer account before the training is due to begin.
If you cannot sign in, resolve the account issue before inviting trainees.
Open the software or browser-based application you plan to teach and confirm that it is working correctly.
Check that:
Gather the materials trainees may need before or during the session.
These may include:
Use clear filenames so trainees can identify each resource quickly.
Before inviting trainees, confirm:
Use a reliable internet connection and confirm that your computer, browser, microphone and speakers are working.
Close applications and browser tabs that you will not need during the session. This reduces distractions and helps protect private information.
Tell trainees what Train Lens is and why it will be used during the session.
Before the session, trainees should know that:
Before delivering your first live session, run a short practice session with a colleague or a second device.
This allows you to test the joining link, screen sharing, help requests and trainer view before trainees arrive.
Before the session begins, confirm that:
Continue with Run a practice session before live training.
