The wrong screen or window is being shared

Stop the current share

If the trainer can see the wrong content, stop sharing before opening private information. Follow Stop sharing your screen in Trainee guides, then ask the trainer to confirm that your screen is no longer visible.

If you cannot find the stop-sharing control, keep private content closed and ask the trainer for help.

Select the intended content

1. Open the training application or document you want the trainer to see.
2. Close unrelated or private content.
3. Start sharing again using Share your screen with the trainer.
4. Review the available choices and select the intended screen, window or browser tab. Check the selection before confirming.
5. Ask the trainer to confirm that they can see the correct training content.

If you selected a particular window or tab, do not assume that opening a different one changes what the trainer sees. Check with the trainer when you move to different content.

Use Choose what to share to review your options. If sharing will not start, read A trainee cannot share their screen.
